Vauxhall Grandland Unveils 435-Mile Electric Model

– The Vauxhall Grandland has been redesigned for its second generation, now on the STLA Medium platform from Stellantis. This change has increased its dimensions: it is now 173mm longer, 31mm taller, and 64mm wider than its previous iteration.

– The Grandland Electric’s top model is equipped with a 98kWh battery—shared with the new Peugeot e-3008—which provides a maximum range of 435 miles (700 km).

– It supports a rapid charging capability, allowing the battery to charge from 0 to 80% in approximately 26 minutes at a maximum rate of 160kW.

– Although the 73 kWh battery variant offers a 525-kilometre (326 miles) range in the Peugeot e-3008, Opel has not confirmed whether the Grandland will also offer this smaller battery option.

– The Grandland retains a 400-volt system which is typical for its class, balancing cost and performance.

– Inside, the Grandland Electric features a fully digital cockpit with innovative features including a 16-inch touchscreen and a head-up display. Essential functions such as air conditioning remain accessible via a few physical buttons.

– The introduction of the Grandland Electric marks the completion of Vauxhall’s rollout of electric vehicle options across its model range. The announcement follows the recent introduction of the smaller Frontera crossover, which replaces the Crossland.

  – Battery Capacity: 48.6 kWh

  – Estimated Range: 200 miles (approximately 322 km)

Kia EV9 Now $7,500 Cheaper Ahead of U.S. Production Shift

– Kia America introduces a $7,500 discount on its EV9 model to boost sales and align the vehicle’s cost with competing models.

– The discount mirrors the federal tax credit provided to electric vehicles manufactured in North America, although the EV9 currently does not qualify for this credit since it is imported from Korea.

– With the incentive, the starting price of the EV9 drops from $56,225 to $48,725, which includes shipping costs.

– This price adjustment makes the EV9 comparably priced to Kia’s popular Telluride model.

– Kia is also providing special financing options for the EV9, with interest rates ranging from 0 to 2.99 percent over periods up to 72 months.

– The financial incentives, including the discount and the special financing rates, are not combinable but are available across all 50 states.
